Receiving Assistance:

  1. What do I need to bring?
Nothing! We are community facility. Everyone is welcome.

  2. What time should I get there?
No matter what time you arrive, you can expect a little bit of a wait. Breakfast is served from 6:45-8:30. Our food line also runs from 7:15-9:00.

  3. Does House of the Harvest offer financial assistance?
We do not offer financial assistance.

Volunteering:

  1. What time do I need to arrive?
The best time to arrive is around 7:00. Sometimes we have extra volunteers and sometimes we are a little short-handed. If you arrive by 7:00, you will definitely have a place to serve.

  2. Do you need help during the week?
Right now, our only opportunity to serve is on Saturday mornings.

  3. What will I be doing?
We have two basic jobs: working a food station and pushing a buggy as a host (runner) for our clients.

Donations:

  1. When is the best time to drop-off donations?
The best times are on Saturday mornings between 8:30 and 9:15 and Wednesday evenings between 5:00-6:00. On Saturdays, at this time, things have slowed down a little bit usually and the crowd is much lighter. If either of these are not good times, the best thing to do is contact us through our contact page and we will set up a time to have someone meet you.

  2. What are items of need?
Here are some really good food items to donate: Canned meats, other proteins, cereal, breakfast bars/pop-tarts, pasta-roni or similar box dinners, soups, peanut butter and jelly.

  3. Are there needs beside food?
Yes, we also give out hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and baby products. Diapers, wipes, and ENSURE also make really good donation items.

  4. Is it better to donate food or money?
Both are good! Food donations gives us variety. Financial donations help us continue to provide in a variety of ways too. Obviously there are quite a few expenses involved in keeping up our facility, providing breakfast and food. Either way to help is a great way to help!
